Your prayers needed to accomplish my vision on the throne – Olubadan tasks residents
From Ogundele Olanrewaju
The Olubadàn of Ibadan, Oba Olalekan Balogun, has called on all residents of Ibadanland, to pray for him so as to accomplish his vision and mission on the throne.
Oba Balogun made the call on Sunday during a Thanksgiving Service held at Hefsiba Celestial Church of Christ, Alakia in Ibadan.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Oba Balogun, accompanied by his Queen, Olufunmilayo and some of his chiefs to the church, thanked the congregation and all residents of Ibadanland for their love, support and prayers.
The Olubadàn who spoke through Olori Olufunmilayo, said prayers had made the purpose of God concerning him to manifest, pledging not abandon God in his kingship affairs.
The traditional ruler of Ibadanland maintained that he meant well for Ibadan and valued the support of Ibadan sons and daughters, adding that he needed everybody’s prayers advice and necessary information that would benefit the people.
In his sermon, Ven. Francis Egunlae, said only God chooses who to reign at any particular point in time, asserting that it was God that chosen Oba Balogun.
According to Egunlae, the anointing oil for kingship has been put on Oba Balogun by God as His chosen person since he had been pronounced the new Olubadan of Ibadanland.
He urged the congregation not to relent in praying for the Olubadàn and all members of Olubadàn in Council for peace to continue reigning in Ibadanland.
The Cleric further urged Nigerians to seek for repentance and return to God to prevent the wrath of God.
He said the wrath of God could be averted with repentance noting that God remains a loving and forgiving father who is ready to change His mind if and when the people repent and turn to Him genuinely.
