Traffic Congestion: OYRTMA hails MIKANO over donation of traffic control stands

The Oyo State Road Traffic Management Authority (OYRTMA), on Monday, hailed Mikano International Limited, the makers of Mikano Generators and Geely Motors, over the donation of Traffic Control Stands to the agency.

The Chairman of the agency, Mogaji Akin Fagbemi, delivered the appreciation message, while taking the delivery of the traffic control stands at the agency’s administrative headquarters, Secretariat, Ibadan.

Fagbemi, reiterated that the administration of Governor ‘Seyi Makinde is doing everything possible to build a new Oyo State, which has become evident to all investors, including Mikano International Limited by fixing infrastructures and paying attention to traffic management.

He said: “Well, let’s appreciate God for this opportunity and let’s thank Mikano International for also coming to our aide to assist the agency.”

But I must tell you, this is also a plus to the Oyo State Government under Engr. ‘Seyi Makinde. The performance of the government is obvious, it can be seen everywhere including OYRTMA and that has spur the Mikano to support what we are doing.”

“This is not the first time they have been doing it and for us we are glad. For this and for us, it is a welcome development and it will also help, not only OYRTMA as a traffic agency and other paramilitaries that are doing the same.”

“We will always thank you. Tis will help to reduce the hazards associated with the job we are doing. We are glad and happy.”

He further solicited more supports from other corporate organisations, which included a request for more donations of the traffic control stands, which he said, would be distributed to all zones of the state.

“We are also encouraging other corporate organisations to also do the same and this will also help humanity,” he said.

From his part, the Police Stand Coordinator, Mr. Yemi Salako, representing the chairman, commended the agency’s efforts in the state, hinting that he is aware that the state is making proper use of the items earlier donated.

Assuring that the company is ready to do more for the state, Salako added that the initiative was part of the CSRs of the company in the last 27 years.

“We are doing this because it’s part of our CSR. We have been doing this throughout the 36 states of the federation. It’s an initiative we have been doing for the past 27 years.”

“The company is very passionate about traffic officers, hence the need to ensure reduction in traffic congestion in all the state capitals of Nigeria. That’s why we are doing this,” he said.
