Aliwo’s scion, Nurse Odegoke, bows out of Oyo State Civil Service amidst encomium

…described as a bridge-builder

The Chief Matron of the Ministry of Health, Oyo State, Nurse Omotayo Odegoke
on Wednesday, bowed out of active service as she turned 60 years.

Nurse Odegoke, who hailed from the royal Aliwo family, joined the service of Oyo state in1988 as an Environmental Sanitation Assistant, and retired as Chief Matron.

Speaking at the retirement ceremony, held in her honor at the conference room, Ministry of Health, the representative of the Commissioner of Health, Taiwo Ajiboye, described her as a dedicated, committed, and hardworking officer, who was very passionate about her duty.

Also speaking at the event, the Director of Nursing Services, Alhaja Risiquat Nasir applauded the retiree for living a life of humility, adding that she was very committed to her work.

Similarly, one of the siblings of the celebrant, Dr. Rasheed Fasasi, described Mrs Odegoke as a powerful bridge-builder whose style of leadership has strengthened the unity of the family.

Colleagues, staff of the Ministry of Health showered her with encomium, emphasising that the celebrant was a woman of love and peace.

Responding, the celebrant, Nurse Odegoke thanked God for witnessing the day and appreciated family members that facilitated her sojourn into Nursing profession.

She urged those still in service to be hardworking, loyal and selfless to attain success at the end.

The event had in attendance, Staff of the Ministry of Health, Friends, family, members, and a host of others, while the celebration also featured the 60th birthday cake, which was cut by the celebrant.
