Yuletide: Nigerians urges to show gratitude despite challenges

….as Splash FM holds Xmas Carol

In the spirit of the Yuletide, Nigerians have been encouraged to develop an attitude of gratitude and appreciation to God for the gift of life despite socio economic challenges and anxiety caused by the COVID-19 pandemic

This was the cruz of message delivered by clergymen in their various exhortations at the 4th edition of night of carols organized by SplashFm and LageluFm to celebrate the Christmas season.

Beyond creating an atmosphere of entertainment, fun and relaxation, The SplashFm, LageluFm night of carols is also a divine assembly of praise and thanksgiving, where people of goodwill irrespective of their religious stance, come together to appreciate God for his benevolence all through the year

As expected lessons drawn from the scriptures were read in English, Yoruba as well as Pidgin by popular programme host and news presenters from both SplashFm and LageluFm to the delight of audience

In their various exhortations, Arch Bishop of Catholic arch diocese Ibadan, Gabriel Abegunrin duly represented, Pastor Joshua Akinola, Revd Canon Yemi Alade, Pastor Fidelis Bamikale, Prophet Odekunle Ephaphra, Prophet Joseph Adeoye amongst others drawing lesson from the scriptures stressed on the significance of the season and unanimously exhorted Nigerians to anchor their faith more on God particularly with prevailing challenges while imbibing an attitude of gratitude always for the gift of life

In special renditions of various carol hymns, the Celestial church of Christ, Christ Apostolic church, thrilled the audience with spiritual rhapsody while Big Bolaji amongst others ignited the atmosphere in a medley of praise

Earlier in their various remarks, Chief Mrs Onikepo Akande, wife of the founding chairman of SplashFm and Lagelufm, the Chief Executive Officer Mrs Atinuke Adetunji and the General Manager Operations, Mr Tunde Olawuwo encouraged Nigerians never to lose hope for a better tomorrow

The icing on the cake that electrified the night of carol was with the ministration in songs by sensational gospel artiste and evangelist Tope Alabi

The Bashorun of Ibadan, High Chief Kola Daisi, Chief KO Latunji, representatives from the Central Council of Ibadan Indigenes (CCII) in honour of the founding chairman, Chief Bayo Akande the Abese Olubadan of Ibadanland amongst other notable Nigerians and people of goodwill graced the event .
