Osinbajo advises Yoruba leaders on preservation of cultural values

Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo has advised the leaders of Yoruba race not to allow the cultural and philosophical practices of Yoruba to fade away.

He stated this at the launching of International centre for Yoruba Arts and Culture, which was in collaboration with institutes of African studies and Yoruba Language centre University of Ibadan, Ibadan, Oyo state.

Osinbajo noted that the Yoruba culture is embedded in rich cultural and philosophical practices which must not fade away.

He further lauded the initiative called for a comprehensive collation of materials that would be archival in nature.

In his remark, Oyo state governor Engineer makinde Seyi makinde,who was represented by the deputy governor of Oyo state, Engineer Rauf Olaniyan, urged management of the centre to avoid distortion of facts in data collection.

In his address, The Aare Ona kakanfo of Yoruba land, Gani Adams urged Yoruba race to lay a cultural foundation and to let them understand the importance of Yoruba culture
