Commissioner-Nominee Vows to Be Dedicated in Service to Oyo

Prof. Musibau Babatunde, the Chief Economic Adviser to Governor Seyi Makinde who is among the commissioner-nominees, has vowed to be more dedicated and committed to the service of Oyo State following his appointment.
Prof. Babatunde stated this while confirming his elevation to National Daily news.
The Economics Professor said:”Yes, I am among those appointed as Commissioners. I promise the people and Government of Oyo State more commitment, dedication and value-adding service”.
Babatunde, who is of the Economics Department of University of Ibadan (UI), was promoted to the rank of professor in January 2021.
In September 24, 2019, Makinde appointed Babatunde into the Oyo State Cabinet as his Chief Economic Adviser.
Babatunde recently emerged among the top 20 Economists in Nigeria.
The ranking, which was done on the Scientific Index ranking of Economists, saw Professor Babatunde on the 15th position out of the top 20 Economists /Accountants in the country.
Babatunde, who is a seasoned economist, is also a recipient recipient of the World Trade Organization (WTO) Doctoral Internship Visiting Scholar Support Award, Geneva, Switzerland.
The professor obtained his first degree, Masters and Ph.D from the same premier university and had also served as Director in the Industrial Policy Course in Africa and Domestic Resource Mobilisation for Investment for African Policy Makers with the United Nations African Institute for Economic Development and Planning (IDEP), Dakar, Senegal.
His research interests include: Energy Economics, International Economics and Macroeconomics. Dr Babatunde has independently and collaboratively consulted for both reputable local and international organizations. He has published extensively in reputable local and international journals and has also contributed chapters in several books within and outside Nigeria. Babatunde participated in local and international workshops, conferences and seminars. He is a member of several local and international professional associations.
