Oyo Guber Poll: Why All hands Must be on Deck to Ensure PDP Victory–Oludamilola ALA
By Now March 13 the collation and Announcement of Election results would reached advanced stage and perhaps the winner of the 2023 general election would have emerge if election were to be conducted on last Saturday March 11.
At least each political party would known their stands has Many house of Assembly candidate would have definitely emerged and ready for task ahead but Independent National Electoral Commission extend the poll by one week to allow the reconfiguration of Bimodal Voters Accreditation System.
The Extension of one week by INEC have provided an opportunity for political parties and their candidates to continue to align with some stakeholders especially those Contestants that lost in the National Assembly election. This is not new anyway because each contestant needs majority votes before such candidate can be pronounced as the winner of the election
In the southwest All eyes are on the Lagos,Ogun and Oyo States. In Lagos State,Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of All Progressive Congress will slog it out with PDP Candidate Azeez Olajide Known as Jandor and Labour Party candidate Gbadebo Rhodes- Vivour .In Ogun state Governor Dapo Abiodun is seeking for his re election why PDP Candidate Hon Adebutu and ADC candidate Biyi Otegbeye who is the anointed candidate of immediate past Governor of Ogun state Senator Ibikunle Amosun. However in Oyo state Governor Seyi Makinde of PDP will have hot contest with Senator Teslim Folarin of APC and Chief Adebayo Adelabu of Accord Party.
On Saturday March 18 special attention will be on Lagos and Oyo states due to the outcome of the Presidential and National Assembly election. For instance in Oyo state the results of poll prompted some contestants in the National Assembly election to align with Governor Seyi Makinde to ensure his re election bid is achieved come Saturday March 18th 2023
The development is a good one but there’s need for those druming support to work collectively with members and stakeholders of PDP to ensure victory of Governor Seyi Makinde in their respective polling units and political wards and most especially local government in the state.
This is the time we should understand that votes won’t come from heaven hence the need for collective support through aggressive campaign towards ensuring victory of all PDP candidates in March 18 polls.
It is a shame and should be on records for any political stakeholder who failed to mobilize electorate and ensure victory of PDP candidate in their respective polling units and wards.Endosing Governor Seyi Makinde is good working towards his victory and other PDP candidates is the best.
