Ahead of 2023 General Elections: AIG Akande Kayode Resumes At Zone 11 Police Command Osogbo
The newly deployed Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG) In-charge of Zone 11 Command Osogbo, Comprises Oyo and Osun States Commands, Acting AIG Akande Sikiru Kayode has resumed duty and began to put in place tremendous changes to make the zone perform its statutory function effectively.
On assumption of duty, the well experienced officer of the law pledged to do everything under the law to ensure success of the coming national elections, while promising to motivate his men to work, stressing that any form of indiscipline and lawlessness will be severely sanctioned.
The Acting AIG Akande Sikiru Kayode according the statement issued, signed and made available to newsmen by the Police Public Relations Officer, Zone 11 Command Osogbo, SP Ayeni Benjamin was Born at Ibadan to the family of Late Alh. LA Akande CP (Rtd) and Late Alhaja Amdalat Titilayo Akande (Alasaro 1) first Iyaloja of Ibadan land.
The AIG attended Victory School Oke Ado for his elementary education, and ICAGS Aperin Oniyere, Egbeoba High School Ikole Ekiti, before proceeding to OSCAS Ikare Akoko and University of Benin, Benin City, Edo State.
He joined the Nigeria Police Force in 1990 as Cadet ASP and has worked in various capacities which includes; DTO Suleja Niger State and Apata Division Ibadan, Oyo State, Detective FORCID Alagbon Lagos , Member Presidential Task Force on Financial Crime, PA to CP and PPRO Bauchi State, DCO National Assembly Abuja, Member Nigeria Police Peace Keeping Contingent to UN Mission in Kosovo.
He was also the Pioneer 2ic Mopol 44 Abuja, CO Mopol 12 Minna, CO Mopol 11 Calabar. CO first Africa Armed Police Unit to the United Nation Mission in Liberia. DPO Ayeso Ilesa, Ede, Oke Bale Osogbo, Osun State and Agbor Delta State. Area Commander Ilesa, 2ic Ops Osun State. Chief of Operations PKD FHQ Abuja. Commandant Police Training School Oyin Akoko, and DC Presidential/VIP Movement SH Abuja. CP Cross Rivers State, ICT FHQ Abuja and Adamawa State, and now AIG Zone 11 Command Osogbo.
The now boss at the zone 11 has following Certificates and Commendations; B.Sc Hons, Political Science (UNIBEN 1987), advance Detective Certificate (Staff College Jos 1997). Junior Command Certificate (Police Staff College Jos 2001). Unit Combat Certificate (Mopol Training School Gworza 2001, 2003, 2004). SQD Commanders Certificate (Mopol Training School Gworza 2005, 2007). Intermediate Command Certificate (Police Staff College Jos 2006), among other commendations before resuming duty at the zone 11.
