From Ogundele Olanrewaju
Chairman of Ibadan Football Association ( IFA), Barr. Rotimi Alli has made a passionate appeal to Gov. Seyi Makinde to double his support for 3SC for the team to overcome Kano Pillars and remain in the Nigerian elite League.
Alli, who acknowledged the invaluable contributions of the State Governor to the Oluyole Warriors right from the NNL days which culminated in securing promotion to the NPFL , stated emphatically that the Shooting Stars needed the Governor now more than before.
Describing Gov. Makinde as a rare but ever-present benefactor to the 3SC who snubbed all entreaties for dissolution of the Club’s Management when it ran into troubled waters, Alli pleaded with the Oyo State Governor to rally round the team once again.
The Ibadan soccer ruling body chairman, who spoke in a chat with IFA Media charged all fans and supporters of the darling club of Ibadan to support the former Continental Champions whichever way possible.
Alli, who raised over #500,000 through his friends for the Shooting Stars during the “Operation Pillars Must Fall” of the first round of the League which led to the defeat of Kano Pillars in Ibadan in the last match for that Round.
He admonished the League Management Company (LMC) not to bring the NPFL into disrepute by yielding to pressure from Kano Pillars management.
He disclosed that Nigerians were aware of the persistent pressure being mounted on the Organising and Disciplinary Committee of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) to reverse the Committee’s laudable and widely-applauded decision.
Barr. Alli charged the Shooting Stars to go all out for victory against Pillars in its last match of the season .
