New Olubadan charged to reawake traditional culture in Ibadan

The new Olubadan of Ibadanland Designate, Dr. Lekan Balogun, have been charged of his era to re-awake all title holders in the society to function in their assumed duties of serving the people within their areas of jurisdictions.
The assertion was made by the Mogaji Ogun-Elu Aare Alasa Dynasty Oja Oba , Prof. Sabit Adegoke Ariyo, during a felicitation visit to the Olubadan Designate as the 42nd Olubadan of Ibadan land at his Alarere resident ahead of the coronation ceremony which would be coming up on March 11.
Engr. Olagoke reiterated that all traditional tittle holders including the Mogaji’s must be saddled with their responsibilities by working together to promote peace and accelerated development in the state.
He harped that, there is the need to harness security resources by the Mogaji’s and other traditional tittled holders to be able to promote functional titles and a way of solving security issues.
Shafaudeen group while briefing journalists on the essence of his visit said, “I’m here to congratulates the Olubadan elect, as God as appointed him to be the 42nd Olubadan of Ibadanland and I’m also here to pray for him that God should grant him sound health and wisdom that is required for the office so he can have a successful reign.
He said, “I’m also here to lend my voice of advice to him that a bush doesn’t make a forest, all the Ibadan Chiefs must be carried along and they must be ready to work with him as to move Ibadan forward in terms of development because they are the closest to the people at the grassroot, especially the Mogaji’s.
“We the Mogaji’s are the closest to the old, the young, the pregnant women, the market women, the youth and so many others like that, so if we have the knowledge that we will be query for any bridge of law or irregularities of any form that occurs in our various jurisdictions then we should be ready to answers questions as to what are we looking before the matter get out of hand, this in that wise will make us to seat tight and work with the king to achieve a better society and Ibadan that we all desired. Prof. Sabit stressed.
Alhaji Sabit a Professor of Engineering and an Islamic scholar maintained that all Ibadan Chiefs must ensure there is development in their areas and in Ibadan at large, he noted that being a Chief is not for fun or for showcasing of affluence, stressing that either religion or traditional Chief it’s meant for selfless service to the society.
“Our Olubadan designate who was once a politician and now that he’s going to be fully crown as Olubadan he should avoid engaging in partisan politics, because he can’t belong to any political party for now, he has for now because an umpire, a father of all that is exactly what he has become, and I pray for his peaceful reign and long life in the throne. Prof. Sabit said.
