Oriire Abduction: Makinde’s Aide Commends Rescue Operation, Says It Reaffirms Commitment to Oyo Residents’ Safety

The Executive Assistant to the Oyo State Governor on Finance, Budget and Economic Planning, Alhaji Ghafar Bello Kolawole, has commended Governor Seyi Makinde and the federal government for the successful rescue of pupils and teachers abducted in Oriire Local Government Area of the state.

In a statement, Bello Kolawole described the rescue operation as a reflection of Governor Makinde’s in collaboration with the President Bola Tinubu led federal government unwavering commitment to the security and welfare of residents of Oyo State, while also acknowledging the support and intervention of the Federal Government in ensuring the safe release of the victims.

He applauded the coordinated efforts of security agencies, including those involved at the federal level, for their dedication and professionalism throughout the operation, which led to the rescue of the victims after weeks in captivity.

He said the successful operation demonstrated the effectiveness of collaboration between the Oyo State Government, the Federal Government, and security agencies in addressing security challenges, noting that the development had restored hope to the affected families and residents across the state.

According to him, the rescue further showed that both the state and federal authorities remained committed to protecting the lives and property of citizens through continuous investment in security measures and strategic partnerships with relevant agencies.

“The successful rescue of the pupils and teachers is a clear indication of the government’s determination to ensure the safety of every resident of Oyo State. The professionalism and dedication displayed by the security agencies, alongside the support from the Federal Government, deserve commendation,” he said.

Bello Kolawole noted that the outcome of the operation reflected the importance of strengthening the state’s security architecture and maintaining effective cooperation among stakeholders in the fight against insecurity.
