Ojoo Crisis: Olubadan Urges Restraint, Peaceful Coexistence

The Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja, has called on all parties involved in the recent crisis in Ojoo, Akinyele Local Government Area of Oyo State, to embrace peace and avoid actions capable of escalating the situation.

In a statement issued by his Media Aide, Adeola Oloko, the monarch said peaceful coexistence among the various ethnic groups residing in Ibadan remains a matter of utmost importance to him.

Oba Ladoja urged residents, irrespective of their ethnic backgrounds, to continue to see one another as brothers and sisters, stressing that unity and mutual understanding are essential for sustaining peace in the ancient city.

The royal father acknowledged that minor disagreements are inevitable in human relationships but cautioned all parties to exercise restraint and tread carefully in view of the prevailing security challenges across the country.

He further reminded residents that Ibadan has become home to many Nigerians regardless of their religious, ethnic or ideological affiliations, noting that the city has a long-standing tradition of accommodating people from diverse backgrounds.

The Olubadan also commended security agencies, particularly the Police, for their swift response to the crisis and their efforts in maintaining law and order in the affected community.
