OYRTMA Announces Traffic Diversion for Unity Mega Rally in Ibadan

The Oyo State Road Traffic Management Authority (OYRTMA) has announced a temporary traffic diversion in parts of Ibadan ahead of the Unity Mega Rally 2026 scheduled to hold on Thursday, May 14, 2026.
The statement which was released and signed by the Executive Chairman Oyo State Road Traffic Management Authority, (OYRTMA) Major Adesagba Adekoya (Rtd), ahead of the unity mega rally in Ibadan tomorrow.
According to the agency, the diversion will take effect from 6:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. around Ojaba and Beree Roundabout to ensure smooth vehicular movement and maintain public safety during the rally.
OYRTMA stated that the affected route, stretching from Ojaba Central Mosque Junction to Beree Roundabout Junction, will remain closed throughout the duration of the event.
The authority explained that the measure is aimed at preventing traffic congestion, gridlock, disorder, and unnecessary delays often associated with large gatherings.
To ease movement within the city, motorists have been advised to make use of alternative routes.
Commuters approaching from the Gate-Oje axis are advised to ply Beree Roundabout through Oranyan, Agbongbon Junction, Idi-Arere, Orita-Merin, and Born-Photo Junction routes.Similarly, road users coming from the Molete axis are encouraged to use Idi-Arere, Agbongbon, Oranyan, Beree Roundabout, or Labiran Junction.
Speaking on the exercise, OYRTMA emphasized that its priority remains the reduction of traffic congestion and the protection of lives and property.
OYRTMA also appealed to attendees of the Unity Mega Rally not to bring vehicles or motorcycles to the venue in order to reduce traffic pressure and avoid parking shortages.
The agency added that traffic officers and other security personnel would be deployed across strategic locations to manage traffic flow and ensure the safety of residents and road users.
