OIKF Set to Honour Oba Oloro of Oro, Actress Adegbola, Akinyele Council Boss and Others at the 6th OYSMA

Popular Nollywood actress, Toyin Adegbola popularly known as Toyin Asewo to re mecca, Toyin Tomato is among prominent personalities billed to receive honours at the 6th edition of the Oyo Social Media and Distinguished Personalities’ Awards (OYSMA 2026).

The award ceremony, organised by the Omo Iyakunmi Foundation, is scheduled to hold on Sunday, May 31, 2026, at Tees Events Hall, Ilora Road, Oyo, with red carpet activities commencing at 12 noon.

According to the organisers, this year’s edition will celebrate individuals who have distinguished themselves in various fields including education, public service, leadership, media, sports, and entertainment.

Toyin Adegbola will be honoured with the Lifetime Achievement Award in the Entertainment Industry in recognition of her decades-long contribution to the growth of Nollywood and cultural promotion.

Other notable awardees include Mrs. Salimot Adebola Babalola-Ayegboyin, Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Education, who will receive the Distinguished Career Achievement Award, and Hon. Wole Akinleye, Chairman of Akinyele Local Government, billed for the Distinguished Personality Award.

Traditional leadership will also be recognised, with HRM Oba Joel Olatoye, the Oloro of Oro, set to receive the Distinguished Royal Icon of Excellence Award.

In the media category, Mr. Dele Adeyanju Agbaletu will be honoured with the Excellence in Broadcasting Award, while Coach Olukayode Solanke is to receive the Sports Icon Award.

Academic excellence and community impact will also take centre stage, with Aminat Yetunde and Asiru Opeyemi listed for Academic Excellence Awards, alongside Idris Animashaun for Community Impact recognition.

Other awardees include Revd. Akintayo Suulola for Excellence in Leadership and Character, Alhaji Afeez Adigun for Excellence Award, Dr. Adetunbi Ige and Alhaji (Arc.) Azeez Omotayo Salaam as Distinguished Personalities, as well as Mrs. Periola Hanifat for the Icon of Motherhood Award.

Additionally, Emmanuel Oyelami will be recognised in the academic category, while the late Rahaman Onike will be honoured posthumously for his contributions.

Dr. Mrs. Titilope Victoria is also set to receive the Outstanding Service to Humanity Award, further highlighting the diversity of recognition across sectors.

Organisers note that OYSMA has continued to grow into a major platform celebrating excellence at the intersection of digital influence and community development. They added that the 2026 edition will be one of the largest yet, bringing together influencers, leaders, and stakeholders under one roof.
