Adeoye Declares Interest in Lagos 2027 Governorship Race
…As PDP aspirant unveils “Better Lagos Agenda 2027,” pledges inclusive growth and unity
A Lagos-based entrepreneur and politician, Adelaja Adeoye, has formally declared his intention to contest the 2027 Lagos State governorship election under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
In a letter dated May 2, 2026, and addressed to the Lagos State PDP Chairman, Dr. Amos Fawole, Adeoye stated that his decision to join the race was driven by a “deep and genuine sense of duty” to serve the people of Lagos State.
Adeoye, who described himself as a proud Lagosian with Ijebu and Awori heritage, said his background places him in a unique position to foster unity across the state’s diverse communities, particularly between Lagos East and Lagos West.
Speaking on his qualifications, the governorship hopeful highlighted his academic credentials, including a degree in Mathematics from the University of Lagos and a Master’s degree in Property Development and Management from Lead City University.
He also disclosed that he is currently pursuing a PhD in Environmental Management.Adeoye noted that he has over two decades of professional experience spanning banking, oil and gas, and real estate.
Adeoye added that he founded several companies, including Fendini Group, Alphabetia Nigeria Limited, and Adwood Communications, which he said have collectively created hundreds of jobs.
The PDP aspirant also cited recognitions he has received, including being named among 50 top CEOs shaping Nigeria’s economy by the The Guardian Nigeria in 2023, as well as awards from City People Magazine and Lead City University in subsequent years.
On his political experience, Adeoye revealed that he was actively involved in PDP activities, including serving as a member of the party’s national convention in 2021/2022.
He also previously contested for the House of Representatives seat for Oshodi-Isolo Federal Constituency II.
Adeoye unveiled his development blueprint tagged “Better Lagos Agenda 2027,” codenamed Atunto Eko 1.0, which he described as a comprehensive plan to reposition Lagos for inclusive growth and sustainable development.
According to him, the agenda will focus on key areas such as security, economic growth, infrastructure development, education, healthcare, and inclusive governance.
He emphasized the need for community-based policing, support for small and medium enterprises, improved public infrastructure, and greater transparency in governance.
Adeoye expressed confidence that Lagos could regain its status as a model of excellence and opportunity with the right leadership and policies.
“I humbly seek the support and nomination of our great party, believing that together we can reclaim Lagos and build a better future for all,” he stated.
