The Chairman of the Oyo State Hospitals’ Management Board (OYSHMB), Dr. Akin Fagbemi, has congratulated the retiring Director of Finance and Accounts, Alhaji Akeem Tanimowo, following his 35 years of meritorious service in the Oyo State civil service.
Speaking at a send-off ceremony held in his honour, Dr. Fagbemi praised Tanimowo’s dedication and significant contributions, particularly in strengthening revenue generation for the development of the state’s healthcare system.
He described their relationship as one that evolved from professional colleagues to a close, family-like bond.
Dr. Fagbemi wished the retiree a fulfilling post-service life and prayed for God’s continued protection, strength, and blessings upon him.
He also noted that the board would continue to benefit from Tanimowo’s wealth of experience and expertise even in retirement.
Dr. Fagbemi further urged civil servants across the state to uphold professionalism and diligence in their duties.
In her remarks, the Oyo State Head of Service, Mrs. Olubunmi Oni, commended Tanimowo for his exemplary leadership, teamwork, and unwavering commitment throughout his years of service.
Similarly, the Permanent Secretary of the Board, Dr. Anifat Ibraheem, congratulated the retired director, acknowledging his impactful career and dedication to public service.
She prayed for continued strength and success in his future endeavours.
In his response, Alhaji Tanimowo expressed appreciation to the Head of Service, board chairmen, past and present Permanent Secretaries, as well as the management and staff of OYSHMB for their support during his career.
He noted that although he is retiring from the civil service, he remains committed to contributing actively to human and societal development.
Highlights of the event included the recitation of the Holy Quran, presentation of gifts, and the cutting of a ceremonial cake.
