2027: Oyo APC Stakeholders Urge Tinubu to Convene Unity Meeting

…Call for urgent meeting to resolve internal issues ahead of 2027 polls

The Stakeholders of Oyo State All Progressive Congress (APC) have pleaded with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to convene a meeting of critical stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Oyo State to further consolidate unity, address lingering concerns, and align strategies ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The appeal was made by political stakeholders and governorship aspirants of the Oyo State APC following a strategic meeting held on Monday, April 6, in Ibadan.

The meeting, hosted by former First Lady, Florence Ajimobi, brought together key party leaders and stakeholders in what was described as a show of unity and renewed commitment to the progress of the party.

Discussions at the meeting focused on a detailed review of the party’s performance in the 2019 and 2023 general elections, where the APC suffered setbacks in the state.

Participants identified both internal and external factors responsible for the losses, while emphasizing the need for stronger cohesion, strategic planning, and enhanced grassroots engagement.

Looking ahead, the stakeholders deliberated on strategies for the 2027 general elections, with particular focus on both the presidential and governorship contests.

They agreed that early preparation, unity of purpose, and effective mobilization across all levels would be crucial to securing electoral victory.

In a demonstration of loyalty, the stakeholders unanimously reaffirmed their support for President Tinubu, commending his leadership and ongoing efforts to reposition the country.

Among those present at the meeting were the Oyo State APC Chairman, Chief Moses Alake-Adeyemo; Senator Teslim Folarin; Senator Abdulfatai Buhari; and Senator Sharafadeen Alli.

Others included former Deputy Governor, Rauf Olaniyan; Alhaji Fatai Ibikunle; Ambassador Florence Ajimobi; Barrister Akeem Agbaje; and other party stakeholders.

The meeting ended with a renewed commitment by all participants to work collectively in strengthening the APC and positioning it for success in future elections.
