Cybersecurity Expert, Dr. Yusuf Saheed joins race for Ibadan South East/North East Federal Constituency Seat ahead 2027 Elections

An expert with a Doctoral degree of Engineering in Cybersecurity, Dr. Yusuf Saheed has thrown his hat into the ring for the Ibadan South East/ Ibadan North East Federal Constituency seat in the House of Representatives.

He said this while engaging newsmen in Ibadan on Saturday.

Dr. Saheed, who is a proud son of Ibadanland, cites insecurity and inflation as major concerns driving his decision to run for office, saying, “The problems of my people are too serious to be left only to politicians.”

The technorat cum politician who was born into the Eleduwe family in Idi-Aro, and grew up in Oyapidan area of Olomi, raised concern about the high growth of insecurity, unemployment and neglect of the constituency by previous representatives, saying this has increased in erosion of family dignity.

He emphasized on the need for the federal constituency to choose his well intentioned personality for due democratic development, pledging accountability, transformation and widely yielding representation.

” I pledge expertise, enthusiasm, priority, evidential legislation, fight for digital inclusion, mentorship, generational investment and absolute loyalty to the federal constituency. I am bringing Ibadan South East/North East’s problems directly to Abuja’s doorstep, with expertise and unbreak able mandate from my people”, he added.

The respected aspirant highlighted his legislative priorities including reforming the security funding architecture, strengthening National Assembly oversight of defence and security budgets, and pushing for agricultural investment legislation to address food inflation.

“I will sponsor legislation to decentralize security funding, ensuring state and local governments receive direct allocations for community policing,” Dr. Saheed said.

He also planned to introduce a CBN Accountability Act to ensure transparency in monetary policy decisions.

Meanwhile, the seasoned cybersecurity consultant, who has advised institutions on protecting digital infrastructure and conducted security risk assessments, emphasized readiness to bring his expertise and innovative solutions to Ibadan South East/North East Federal Constituency in the National Assembly in the 2027 General Elections.
