Oyo State Police Bust Suspected Human Parts Syndicate in Ibadan

The Oyo State Police Command has arrested three suspects in connection with the unlawful possession and sale of suspected human parts in Ibadan.

This was disclosed by the Oyo State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Ayanlade Olayinka to Journalist.

According to the Command, the arrests were made during a routine stop-and-search operation carried out along the Adekile area of Agugu as part of ongoing efforts to curb criminal activities in the state.

Police operatives reportedly intercepted an unregistered Bajaj Boxer motorcycle during the operation.

A search conducted on the pillion rider led to the discovery of a package containing flesh suspected to be human intestines.

The suspect was immediately apprehended, which was identified as Oyategbe Joseph, was said to have confessed during interrogation that he obtained the suspected human parts from an unidentified individual in the Oritaperin area of Ibadan.

He further disclosed that he had sold the items to two individuals.

Acting on the information, police authorities arrested the alleged buyers, identified as Alfa Onaolapo Taiwo, 46, and Pastor Ayodele Taiwo, 55.

Both suspects reportedly admitted to purchasing the items from Oyategbe Joseph.

The Commissioner of Police has ordered that the case be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (CID) for further investigation.

Authorities confirmed that all three suspects remain in custody and will be charged to court upon the conclusion of investigations.

The Police Command reiterated its commitment to proactive policing and safeguarding public safety, urging residents to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities to the nearest security agency.

Police spokesperson, DSP Ayanlade Olayinka, emphasized the importance of community cooperation in maintaining law and order across the state.
