A Lagos State governorship aspirant under the Peoples Democratic Party, Laja Adeoye, has congratulated Muslims on the successful completion of the holy month of Ramadan.
In a goodwill message to mark the Eid-el-Fitr celebration, Adeoye expressed gratitude to Almighty Allah for granting the faithful the strength to observe the month-long fast.
He described Ramadan as a period of deep spiritual reflection, devotion, and self-discipline, noting that it offers an opportunity for personal growth and purification of the soul.
“It is with immense joy and a deep sense of gratitude that I join our Muslim brothers and sisters in celebrating the conclusion of this sacred journey,” he said.
Adeoye emphasized that Ramadan goes beyond abstaining from food and drink, adding that it instills values such as empathy, humility, and compassion for the less privileged in society.
According to him, the discipline and sacrifices demonstrated during the period draw individuals closer to God and reinforce the importance of righteous living.
He urged Muslims to sustain the lessons learned during Ramadan by promoting kindness, unity, and support for one another within their communities.
The governorship aspirant also prayed that the Eid-el-Fitr celebration would usher in peace, happiness, and prosperity for families and the nation at large.
“May this Eid bring a renewed sense of hope and strengthen the bonds of unity and love in our society,” he added.
