Oyo State Court Affirms Validity of PDP 2025 National Convention in Ibadan

An Oyo State High Court sitting in Ibadan has affirmed the validity of the 2025 National Convention of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), held in the Oyo State capital on November 15 and 16, 2025.

Justice Ladiran Akintola of Court 5 delivered the judgment on Friday, shortly after ruling on an application for joinder in the matter.

In a decision that may reshape the internal dynamics of the opposition party, the court granted all 13 reliefs sought by the claimant, Folahan Malomo Adelabi, through his counsel, Musbau Adetunmbi.

The judgment effectively validates the emergence of the Dr Taminu Turaki-led National Working Committee (NWC), which was constituted at the convention.

The November convention had drawn significant attention amid disputes over its legality and the leadership structure it produced. Friday’s ruling now provides judicial backing for the process and its outcomes.
