Osun State CAN Honours Oyo CAN Chairman, Ogundiya

The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Osun State on Tuesday, bestowed an award on the Chairman, Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Oyo State, Revd Dr. Elisha Olukayode Ogundiya.

The award ceremony was during the Osun State annual General meeting of the association held at the CAN, Osun State Secretariat, Aisu Ede along Gbongan Ibadan Road , Osun State

This event was directed by the Osun State CAN Chairman , Revd Dr. John A. Adeleke.

In his remark at the award ceremony, the Chairman, Osun State CAN, Very Revd Samuel Temitope Owolabi said the honour was based on the meritorious, selfless and patriotism of Rev Ogundiya while he was serving at the Chairman of Osun State CAN.

The Osun CAN chairman commended the honouree for his outstanding Christian virtues, which made his leadership in the Christian community in Osun State successful despite many crises and challenges that rocked the state while he served.

He urged Christian leaders to emulate Ogundiya in their calling and be true leaders of God’s people devoid of earthly distractions.

In his response, Revd Dr. Ogundiya appreciated the leadership of the Osun Christian community for their love and recognition shown to him for his service in the state.

He called on Christians to remain committed to God’s work and their calling and be a good example worthy of emulations to their followers.

Revd Dr Elisha Ogundiya assured that he will continue to collaborate with the state chapter of CAN even as the Oyo State CAN Chairman in order to further strengthen the work of the gospel.

The event was attended by Representative of the Osun State governor, Ademola Adeleke, while the Oyo state CAN leadership was led to the event by its secretary.
