Aare Musulumi of Yorubaland Congratulates Muslims on the Commencement of Ramadan, Calls for Unity Among the Ummah

The Aare Musulumi of Yorubaland, Edo and Delta States; His Eminence Alhaji Dawud Makanjuola Akinola, has extended warm congratulations to Ummah across Yorubaland, Nigeria, and the world at large as they commence the holy month of Ramadan 2026 (1447 A.H)

In his goodwill message to the Muslims around the world, the highly respected Islamic leader described Ramadan as a sacred period of deep reflection, spiritual rejuvenation, self-discipline, and renewed commitment to the teachings of Islam.

He urged the faithful to maximize the blessings of the holy month through sincere devotion, increased acts of charity, compassion for the less privileged, and fervent prayers for peace and progress of Nigeria.

The Aare Musulumi emphasized the importance of unity within the Muslim Ummah, noting that the strength of Islam lies in the bond of brotherhood and shared purpose among believers.

He called on Muslims to eschew division, promote harmony, and uphold the values of tolerance and mutual respect in their communities.

“As we begin this sacred month, let us remember that Ramadan is not only about abstaining from food and drink, but also about purifying our hearts, strengthening our faith, and reinforcing our unity as one Ummah,” he stated.

He further encouraged Muslim leaders, scholars, and youth to use the period to promote peaceful coexistence and national development, while offering special prayers for Nigeria’s stability, security, and prosperity.

The Aare Musulumi concluded by wishing all Muslims a spiritually fulfilling Ramadan and prayed that Allah (SWT) grants everyone the strength and grace to complete the fast successfully.
