Oyo 2027: Ex-Oyo Lawmaker Kolade Olagunju Throws Hat into House of Reps Ring

As Nigeria gears up for the 2027 general elections, former Oyo State House of Assembly member, Hon. Kolade Olagunju, has announced his bid to represent Akinyele-Lagelu Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Abuja under People’s Democratic Party (PDP).

According to a statement released to the press in Ibadan, Olagunju made this declaration at a strategic meeting with his supporters.

With his wealth of experience as an administrator and grassroots politician, he vowed to leverage his expertise to drive meaningful projects that will benefit the people of Akinyele and Lagelu local government.

“Akinyele-Lagelu deserves a representative who will prioritize the welfare and development of our people above personal interests,” Olagunju said. “I believe my track record speaks for itself, and I’m committed to taking our constituency to the next level.”

Olagunju, who served in the Oyo State Assembly from 2011 to 2015, is seeking the PDP nomination for the House of Reps seat.

He expressed his support for Governor Seyi Makinde’s developmental agenda, aimed at accelerating growth and prosperity in Oyo State.

Former PDP Akinyele Local Government Chairman, Alhaji Surajudeen Adegoke, praised Olagunju’s leadership abilities, citing his impressive tenure in the state assembly as proof that he is the right man for the job.

The meeting was attended by several grassroots politicians and Olagunju’s supporters, who expressed confidence in his ability to deliver quality representation to Akinyele-Lagelu Federal Constituency.
