Police Comb Bushes for Kidnappers, Criminal Elements in Oyo

…Reiterates commitment to protection of lives, properties

Police have commenced the combing of bushes in search of kidnappers of Indian expatriate and other criminal elements in some locations in Oyo state.

The gunmen, at the weekend killed a police officer as well kidnapped India expatriate at Ogunmakin community in Oluyole local government area of Oyo state.

The development has necessitated the decision of the Police authorities to review its security strategy with the deployment of more personnel to checkmate the heinous act.

Olayinka Alayande while featuring on the Current Affairs programme of an Ibadan based radio station, Fresh FM on Monday decried the resurgence of criminal activities in some local government areas of the state.

Alayande said the Command is working in collaboration with both Ogun and Lagos commands for effective policing of Lagos-Ibadan expressway and the border communities

According to him, “The Police Command, Oyo state is reviewing its security architecture to checkmate the activities of the kidnappers and other criminal elements in the 33 local government areas of the state.

“It is pathetic that one of our officers lost his life while trying to repel the attacks launched by the gunmen at Ogunmakin area of Oluyole local government area of the State.

“An India expatriate was kidnapped during the attack. We have deployed our men to the affected areas.

They have started combing the bushes in search of the criminal elements. I am assuring the public that they will be smoke out from wherever they are hiding.

The Command is working in collaboration with the sisters command in Lagos and Ogun State respectively at ensuring safer environment.
