President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has delivered a decisive directive to Nigeria’s newly appointed service chiefs end the nation’s lingering security crisis that began in 2009 and restore lasting peace.

Speaking at their official decoration ceremony at the State House, Abuja, on Thursday, October 30, 2025, President Tinubu declared that the era of excuses is over. He charged the top military hierarchy to take bold, innovative steps to crush terrorism, banditry, and emerging armed threats across the country.

“This is not just a decoration ceremony; it’s a renewed commitment to secure every Nigerian,” the President said. “Without security, there can be no development, and this government will not rest until every part of Nigeria is safe.”

Commending the armed forces for their past sacrifices, Tinubu praised their bravery in reclaiming territories and rescuing kidnapped citizens but warned that security threats are evolving. He urged the military to deploy modern intelligence and technology to “smash the new snakes right in the head” before they spread.

Reaffirming his administration’s support for the armed forces, the President vowed to provide the tools and resources needed to deliver results, stressing, “We cannot allow the crisis that began in 2009 to persist any longer.”
