You’re Politically Irrelevant – Ekiti PDP Blasts Fmr Gov Fayose

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ekiti State has described former Governor Ayo Fayose as “a political retiree desperately shouting from the sidelines to remind people that he once existed.”

In a statement signed by Hon. Yemi Ajanaku, Chairman of Local Government Chairmen of the PDP in the state, the party said Fayose’s recent outbursts against the PDP were “the bitter cries of a man who destroyed his own political career through greed, betrayal, and unbridled arrogance.”

“Let it be clear, Ayo Fayose’s political career is dæd and bur!ed. Ekiti people have rejected him. The PDP has moved on. What we are witnessing now is the noise of a lonely man whose influence disappeared the day he lost the trust of the very people who once believed in him,” the statement read.

The PDP accused Fayose of seeking to destabilise the party after years of allegedly manipulating its internal structures for personal gain, saying his era of dominance in Ekiti politics had ended.

“This is the same man who imposed candidates, sold out party interests, and divided our ranks. He thrived on intimidation and deceit, and now that Ekiti PDP has broken free from his control, he can’t handle it. The era of ‘Fayose decides everything’ is gone forever,” the statement added.

Ajanaku challenged Fayose to test his popularity by organising a rally without hiding behind the PDP’s structure, adding that the party remained focused on rebuilding its base ahead of the 2026 governorship election.

“The PDP in Ekiti is back on its feet—stronger, united, and ready to win again. Fayose can keep talking to himself on social media and in media houses, but the train of progress has left the station, and he’s not even at the park,” the statement concluded.
