LG boss begins free eye medical test for residents of LG

The Executive chairman Oluyole local government, Hon. Olaide Settle Popoola has launched a programme tagged Free Eye medical care aimed at treating all those that has sight defect challenges.

Speaking at the Launching ceremony, Hon. Olaide Popoola said that the initiative of the program is to complement the good governance of governor makinde in giving out good health care to the people at the local government.

He further noted that the beneficiaries of the range from people with visual impairment to total blindness, noting that those with visual impairment could be saved from blindness.

“We are aware of the economic and social repercussions of blindness. Cataract, which is the leading cause of blindness among our people, is treatable. Yet, many people lack the money to treat it and other eye problems, which lead to blindness,” the governor lamented.

Hon. Olaide Popoola advised beneficiaries of the program to ensure the use of drugs given to them by the doctor properly.

Under the program, patients would be given drugs, free eyes surgery and the patients would be given free eyes glasses.
