Fiditi Monarch Pushes for Better Healthcare at General Hospital

…As Oba Sakiru Oyeleke urges Oyo Hospital Board to boost services, promises community support

The Paramount Ruler of Fiditi, His Royal Majesty Oba Sakiru Oyewole Oyeleke, Ajani Eedu II, Onifiditi of Fiditi, has paid a courtesy visit to the leadership of the Oyo State Hospitals’ Management Board (OYSHMB) to explore avenues for improving healthcare services in Fiditi and surrounding communities.

The visit, held at the OYSHMB headquarters, focused on strategies to enhance the performance of the General Hospital in Fiditi, which serves Fiditi, Jobele, Iware, and other nearby towns.

In his address, Oba Oyeleke highlighted the strategic importance of General Hospital, Fiditi, in delivering quality healthcare to the people of the region.

He commended efforts by the community—particularly through the Fiditi Progressive Union and Fiditi Strategic Development Initiatives—to support the hospital and ensure it operates at full capacity.

The monarch also revealed that staff quarters currently under construction by the community are expected to be completed and commissioned before the end of the year.

He appealed to the board for additional infrastructure at the hospital, including an ambulance service and increased staffing—especially nurses and midwives—to boost healthcare delivery.

Oba Oyeleke assured the board that with improved services, the hospital would witness greater patronage from residents of Fiditi and its environs.

In his remarks The Chairman, Oyo State Hospital Management Board, Dr. Akin Fagbemi, represented by the Permanent Secretary of board, Dr. Anifat Ibraheem, expressed appreciation for the monarch’s visit and community support.

She emphasized the board’s commitment to strengthening partnerships with stakeholders and indigenes of Fiditi, both at home and abroad.

Dr. Ibraheem assured that the concerns raised during the visit would be thoroughly reviewed, and the board would do everything within its capacity to address them and improve service delivery at the hospital.

The visit was attended by all directors of the OYSHMB. Oba Oyeleke was accompanied by a high-powered delegation, including the Baale Agne of Fiditiland, High Chief Richard Ogunmola, and the National President of the Fiditi Progressive Union, Mr. Adetunji Oyekunle.
