Tinubu Empowers 1,000 SME Traders in Oyo State with Cash Grant

Nigeria First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu has disbursed the sum Fifty thousand Naira grant to One thousand Nano Business and Small Medium Scale traders in Oyo State to restore hope and transform the lives of ordinary Nigerians.

The event which marks the second round of disbursement under the Initiative of Renewed
Hope Initiative (RHI) spearheaded by the First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu.

Senator Oluremi Tinubu who was represented by the Oyo State Governor’s Wife, Mrs Tamunumini Makinde emphasize the importance of the cash grant programme as a demonstration of care and compassion, as well as a reflection of Senator Tinubu’s unwavering commitment to improving the lives of ordinary Nigerians.

She noted that the grant, though modest in monetary value, holds the potential to make a lasting impact saying that it could serve as seed capital for small businesses, assist with educational expenses, or provide support for basic needs such as healthcare and food.

“The Renewed Hope Initiative is not just a handout; it is a strategic investment in the potential of our people,” the first Lady said.

“We witnessed the first phase in August 2024, and today’s disbursement is a continuation of that noble vision”.

“We believe that the greatest investment we can make is in our people, Only through infrastructure inclusive economic empowerment can we build a truly renewed Nigeria.”

In her remarks, The Wife of Oyo State Governor, Tamunumini Makinde who was represented by the Commissioner for Special Duty, Alhaja Fausat Sanni urged all beneficiaries to use the grant wisely, purposefully and encouraged them to see the funds as an opportunity to begin a journey toward financial independence and resilience.

“This grant may look small to some,” She said, but for many households, it can be life-changing. It’s a stepping stone, a beginning, not an end.”

Speaking with some of the beneficiaries, Mrs Oyegoke Bose appreciated the kind gesture extended to woman in the state by Senator Oluremi Tinubu and promised to make use of the money judiciously to boost her financial independence.
