Hon. Taiwo Lekan Salami Empowers Hundreds Of Constituents In Ibadan North With Financial Support, Rallies Support Ahead Of Bye-election
A leading aspirant for the Ibadan North Federal Constituency seat in the House of Representatives under the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Hon. Taiwo Lekan Salami, has launched a large-scale financial empowerment initiative aimed at alleviating poverty and fostering unity among constituents.
The event, held today at the Lekan Salami Sports Complex, Gate 1, Ibadan, drew prominent party leaders, stakeholders, and residents in a massive show of solidarity.
In his poverty alleviation drive, Hon. Taiwo Lekan Salami disbursed significant financial support across the constituency, providing relief for 20 constituents in each of the 12 wards. Additional monetary support was extended to all ward executives, PDP local government executives, and key party leaders.
The financial breakdown includes:
- 20 constituents in each of the 12 wards: ₦4.8 million
- All ward executives across the 12 wards: ₦600,000
- Local government executives: ₦200,000
- Notable party leaders: ₦200,000
Speaking at the event, Hon. Taiwo Lekan Salami urged constituents to remain vigilant and reject deceitful tactics in the upcoming bye-election slated for later in 2025.
“We are focused on supporting Governor Makinde’s vision of a prosperous and developed Oyo State by replicating it in Ibadan North Federal Constituency.
This initiative is just the beginning of what we can achieve when we unite behind the PDP,” he stated.
He also encouraged all attendees to rally behind the PDP, emphasizing the need for electing leaders who prioritize the welfare of the people and the development of the constituency.
The Executive Chairman of Ibadan North Local Government, Hon. Oluwaseun Olufade, commended the empowerment program, describing it as timely relief amid economic challenges.
He praised Hon. Taiwo Lekan Salami’s initiative and expressed appreciation to the executive chairmen of Oluyole and Akinyele Local Governments, Hon. Akeem Olatunji and Hon. Wole Akinleye, respectively, for their presence.
He also acknowledged the contributions of party leaders and appointees, highlighting Ibadan North’s reputation for peaceful and united politics.
PDP leader and chieftain, Baba Ismaila Osuolale Ashipa, lauded the unity displayed by party members and leaders, calling it a powerful statement of solidarity.
