Maolud Nabbiy Celebration: Oyo Muslim faithful hails Dotun Sanusi’s impact on Oyo State
The people of Oyo State yesterday (Sunday) gathered at Ilaji Hotel and Sport Resort, Akanran, Ibadan for maiden Maolud Nabbiy celebration organised by the Jagun Olubadan, Engr. Jubril Dotun Sanusi otherwise know as JDS.
The event had in attendance notable Imams and Alfas across Oyo State as well as Muslim faithfuls which include the Chief Imam of Ibadanland, Sheik Abdulganiy Agbotomokekere, Prof. Kamil Olosho, all Zonal Chief Imams from Oyo, Ogbomoso, Oke-Ogún, Ibarapa, Grand Mufti of Yourbaland, Sheikh Dr. Barry Adetunji, CCII President General, Barr Chief Niyi Ajewole and Oyo State Market Leader, Alhaja Saratu Konibaje.
Others are President of Artisan Association Alhaji Are Yiasu, market leaders across Oyo State, all various Asalatu group cross Oyo State including FOMWAN, NASFAT, Qareeb, Sheikh Giwa’s Asalat, Senior Chief Odunade, Mogajis, Baales, Alakanran of Akanran, Oniladuntan of Ladutan, Ibadan Compounds Peace Volunteers, and Jubril Dotun Sanusi (JDS) Support Group among others.
At the event, people praised Dotun Sanusi for his selfless contributions to the well-being of others.
The event saw participants praising Sanusi’s kindness, generosity, and dedication to uplifting the less privileged.
Islamic scholars and clerics at the event praised Sanusi’s commitment to unity and peaceful coexistence, describing him as a bridge-builder who brought people together across religious and ethnic divides in the state.
According to them, Sanusi’s legacy as a unifier and philanthropist would be remembered for generations to come.
They said Sanusi is kindness and generous and always willing to lend a helping hand to those in neee.
People eulogises all philanthropical and beautiful work Sanusi has been doing, describing him as a unifer within all the political and religious groups.
They said Sanusi remained the only phallantropist in Oyo state that is most accessible, a philanthropist with the likes of Aare Arisekola Alao and enterpreneurship and political juganut with the likes of Bashorun MKO Abiola.
In his remark, Engr. Sanusi said Ilaji organises several Islamic programs on annual basis, adding that the maiden event will not be a one off.
He urge people to emulate the virtues of Prophet Mohammed which was about peaceful and harmonious coexistence.
According to him, Mohammed lived for the service to humanity and accommodating, he live for the nature and mankind and everything God created.
The Maolud Nabbiy celebration also featured recitations of Islamic hymns, eulogies, and prayers for the Dotun Sanusi.
