Oyo Govt Resolves Farmer-Herders’ Conflict in Iwere-Ile, Iwajowa LG

In their efforts to support Oyo State governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde to curb the incessant communal clash between farmers and herders in the state especially in Iwajowa Local government stakeholders have held a peaceful resolution between waring group to allow peace to reign.

While addressing the stakeholders, Chairman Iwajowa Local government, Hon. Jelili Adebare Oyinloye, expressed his gratitude to Governor Makinde for the opportunity given to serve.

He affirmed that Iwajowa Local government will unveil the committee that will oversee the impasse between farmers and herders in Iwajowa local government in a step to stop the incessant clash between the two group.

In his address, Vice chaiman Iwajowa local government, Hon. Tajudeen Olori assured that the step taken by the local government will bring peace to the area.

In their separate remarks, Sabiganna of Iganna, Oba Saliu Oyemonla Azeez and Oniwere-ile pleaded to the people and youth not to engage jungle justice and ensure they seek for peace Iwajowa Local government.

Some of the Youth representatives in Iwere-Ile suggested that herders should make sure it find a way out for their cattles inoder to stop the encroachment of farmland.

In his address, the Giwa Hausawa in Iwere-ile, Usman Idris and leaders of Miyetti Allah in Iwajowa local government, Zubairu Umar expressed his gratitude to governor makined and chairman local government in Iwere-Ile and all stakeholders for finding lasting solutions to the conflict between herders and farmers and further called peace between the two groups.

The committee will be holding it meeting once in a week with security agencies, Farmers, Youths and Fulani in Iwajowa local government.
