Revelation on How PFN was Begat From CAN- Rev. Solomon Aremu

…urges Christian stay focused, United

A notable Ibadan based Nigerian preacher, Reverend Solomon Aremu has disclosed how failure of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) gave birth to the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN).

Citing derailment from its primary mandate as one of the major reasons for the birth of PFN from CAN, Rev. Aremu passionately appealed to Christian Journalists to eschew all forms of divisive tendencies capable of breeding disaffection within the Association.

The clergy made the appeal at the headquarters of his Christ The Light Church (a.k.a Solution Ground) at Ologuneru in Ibadan, the capital city of Oyo state, on Friday September 26, while playing host to the executive council members of the Nigerian Association of Christian Journalists (NACJ), Oyo state chapter.

He said, “CAN has derailed from its primary mandate as the umbrella body of all churches in Nigeria comprising the body of Christ and that’s why men and women of God who believed that things could not be allowed to continue in such derailment created the the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN). Most members then were not happy about the way CAN was operating, that’s what led to the creation of PFN.”

Describing his over 33 year experience in the gospel ministry as very adventurous and eventful, Rev Aremu disclosed that his vast experience on and off the pulpit in his journey with God has thought him vital lessons which include total submission to God’s will, unshakable faith in God’s provisions, unwavering trust in, dedication, and commitment to God’s work saying “I love to move closer to God step by step, I do not engage in anything He has not allowed me to do concerning the ministry.”

While advising preachers and Ministers of the gospel on staying focused on the task of ahead concerning what he described as end time ministry, Rev Aremu said, “we need to say the truth all the time and let other colleagues; pastors, church founders, preachers, prophets know that there’s a life beyond this one, one day we will sleep and wake up no more, whatever we built will speak about us. God did not send us to go and establish business centres but go and call my people to my way. At the end, there’s going to be a darkness, a thick darkness but only those who have light in them will escape.

This is the message of Christ that I am the way, the truth and life, no one comes to the father except by me. This is what every Minister should be preaching not only prosperity because everything you gather here, you will leave behind and go one day, they will bury you not in two coffins but one, so, if all our colleagues began to think like that that I may go anytime, look at all papas in the Lord, where’s Joseph Ayodele Babalola, Akande Baba ibiye? is this how they laid the foundation, are we building on their foundation? We destroyed the foundation and we’re building our own.

“We’re no more teaching the truth in the church, I don’t care if they didn’t come to church in multitude the little that I can gather together I just want to train them and let them know that there’s heaven. They will leave this earth one day. People will say you don’t talk about prosperity and you’re prospering, well, I thank God. It is because I don’t talk about prosperity that I’m prospering. If I changed my ways God may stop the sources of my blessings and what can I do? The key is in his hands, everything that’s happening now shows that the end is near.”

Speaking further, he said, “I don’t preach against anybody, all I preach is Jesus Christ. What God sent me is to show people Jesus, show them light and let them know that this world will come to an end one day, no matter what you’re passing through, there’s an expiring date. So, don’t rush in anything, don’t lose your track because of anything, this world is not worthy of losing your life for any material thing because you wanted anything.”

While expressing his joy over the completion of the church’s headquarters billed for official dedication on Saturday September 30 after over 33 year in full time gospel ministry, the well travelled preacher all around the world said, everything he had done with regards his ministry have been in total submission to God’s leading noting that he would have had many more of such edifice if he had strayed from soul winning to preaching prosperity and how to become rich.

The preacher, who also described himself as a radical Pentecostal preacher harped on unity of purpose, dedication and commitment to the building of the Nigerian Association of Christian Journalists as foundation and pioneer members while stressing the need to be committed to periodic chain prayers, fasting and committing to other activities that would strengthen members spiritual life saying, “storm and wind may arise as you journey along this path but when you allow God to lead, you’ll overcome and become stronger and better together. This task in front of you is a great task, the way we present ourselves to the government and people, make them do whatever they like to us.”

While making inference to the Bible, the man of God noted that except in an exceptional case where God Himself wants to use anybody to fulfill certain purpose for His own glory, it was an abberation for any anointed full time preacher of the gospel to abandon the alter to become a king.

Rev. Aremu made this remarks in response to the controversies trailing a recent event in the country where a notable preacher of the gospel was crowned as first class king. He added that, while there was nothing wrong in traditionalists exercising their rights to freedom of worship to their deities and gods as their beliefs, it became an issue of concern particularly within the body of Christ where a gospel preacher abandoned his calling as an anointed souls winner to become a traditionalist by reason of becoming a king.

He however, alluded to the fact that in such instance, God will guide such king to fulfill His purpose on the throne while calling for end time revival among ministers of the gospel across the country stressing the need to preach the truth in the church and to the world.

Earlier, the Chairman, Oyo state chapter of NACJ, Comrade Lekan Shobowales who led other executive members of the association briefed the clergy in his opening remarks about the vision and mission of the body while soliciting for spiritual guidance, prayers and support from Christian leaders in the state.
