Adelabu Resigns as Nigeria’s Minister of Power to Pursue Oyo Governorship Bid

Nigeria’s Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu, has formally resigned from his position in the Federal Government to pursue his political ambition of becoming the next governor of Oyo State.
This was in a resignation letter addressed to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and transmitted through the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Adelabu expressed appreciation for the opportunity to serve in the administration.
He thanked the President for the confidence reposed in him and described his tenure as a privilege, noting his contributions toward strengthening Nigeria’s power sector in line with the administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
Adelabu stated that his decision to step down was driven by his intention to fully commit to his governorship ambition in Oyo State, requiring his complete focus, time, and resources.
He reaffirmed his respect and appreciation to the President for the opportunity to serve the nation.
