Poem Goes Viral: ‘Wike’s Betrayal’ Sparks Fire in PDP, Makinde Lauded as Champion of Democracy

A scathing poem by Rachael Olaoluwa Ojo, a member of the GSM Advocates, has gone viral, sparking intense reactions within the People’s Democratic Party (PDP). The poem, seen as a rebuke of Nyesom Wike’s actions, praises Governor Seyi Makinde’s loyalty and stand against the APC.

Titled “PDP, my dear party”, the poem laments Wike’s perceived betrayal, alleging he’s working to weaken the PDP and Nigerian democracy. It contrasts Wike’s actions with Makinde’s steadfast commitment to the party and democracy. The poem reads: “Still, GSM stood firm ooh!! He stood, Roots deep, voices strong. But truth was drowned By the noise of National power.”

Supporters claim Wike promised to “hold PDP down” for the APC, undermining democracy. Makinde’s efforts to counter this have earned him praise. “Governor Makinde is a true champion of democracy,” said a PDP chieftain. “He’s standing strong against APC’s attempts to suppress the opposition.”

The poem has sparked a firestorm, with many calling for Wike to explain his actions. Social media is abuzz with reactions, and PDP leaders are feeling the heat. “This is a wake-up call for our party,” said another chieftain. “We must unite and defend our democracy.”

Governor Seyi Makinde’s impressive performance in Oyo State has earned him the people’s trust. With his party’s potential return to power, the people of Oyo State are poised to support him once more. The announcement of an additional โ‚ฆ10,000 transportation allowance has also brought cheer to workers in the state, a welcome respite from the recent petrol price hike.

As the PDP navigates its crisis, Ojo’s poem serves as a call to action, urging party leaders to prioritize unity and democracy. The situation is fluid, with developments unfolding daily and she believes that Governor Seyi Makinde will lead his people to land of promise once again.
