Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde, on Saturday displayed his football skills as he scored twice and provided an assist while leading his team to victory in a novelty match against a team led by former Super Eagles star, Mutiu Adepoju.

The highly entertaining match ended 3–2 in favour of Governor Makinde’s team after a keenly contested encounter that thrilled spectators at the venue.

The novelty match was played at the Lekan Salami Sports Complex, Adamasingba, Ibadan, and drew a large crowd of sports lovers and dignitaries.

Governor Makinde was the standout performer of the game, recording a brace and assisting the winning goal to cap a memorable outing for his side.

Mutiu Adepoju’s team put up a spirited performance, responding strongly with two goals, but ultimately fell short despite their efforts.

The match formed part of a series of activities lined up to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the creation of Oyo State.
