Cleric, Friends, Family, and Colleagues Shower Encomiums as Dr. Fasasi Bows Out of Service

Tributes poured in from clerics, friends, family members, and colleagues as Dr. Rasheed Fasasi, Head of Zone, TESCOM Zone 1, Ibadan, retired from the Oyo State Teaching Service Commission, bringing to a close a distinguished career marked by dedication, professionalism, and selfless service to the development of education in Oyo State.

The tributes were paid on Wednesday during his 60th birthday and retirement ceremony held at Oyesina Hall, Ibadan Boys High School Hall, Oke-Ado Ibadan.

At the special programme, students, friends, and colleagues described the celebrant as a consummate professional, a man of honour with impeccable character, an administrator in the greatest degree, a teacher of teachers, and a God-fearing individual.

Speaking at the event, the Ansarudeen State Missioner, Dr. Bashir Elesinmeta, described the celebrant as a man well-versed in both Islamic and educational knowledge. He urged him to continually give thanks to God for all His favour throughout his life and career.

In their remarks, his first son and daughter, Habeebulahi and Kafeelah Fasasi-Adeoye, hailed their father as a role model. “You are truly a father a man who gives everything to see his family stand strong and succeed. Our prayer is that Almighty Allah grants you the grace to enjoy the fruits of your labour,” they said.

Also speaking, the Principal of Ibadan Boys High School (Senior), Mr. Saheed Osinubi, described the celebrant as a rare treasure and “a medicine of life.” In her heartfelt message, the celebrant’s wife, Alhaja Adiajat Fasasi, referred to her husband as “an ever-loving, supportive husband who has dedicated years of service and marked his 60th birthday with grace, honour, and fulfilment.”

Two of the celebrant’s brothers, Mr. Abdulahi and Alhaji Ridwan Fasasi, also felicitated with him, referring to him as “Olori Ebi” of the Fasasi family of the Aliwo Royal Dynasty. “Surely, what comes after retirement will be far better than what has gone before. Amin,” they prayed.

The event was attended by teachers, school principals, members of professional bodies, traditional leaders, clerics, family, wives and friends.
