The Olubadan-in-Council has inaugurated a three-member panel to investigate the ongoing leadership dispute in Ido, where three individuals are currently claiming authority over the kingdom.
The panel, inaugurated today at the Olubadan Palace, Oke-Aremo, Ibadan, by Oba Rashidi Ladoja, is tasked with examining the root causes of the crisis and providing recommendations for resolution.
The committee comprises Osi Olubadan, Oba Biodun Kola-Daisi, who will serve as Chairman; Ekerin Balogun, Oba Akeem Mobolaji Adewoyin, as Acting Chairman of the Ido Traditional Council and committee member; and Aare-Ago Balogun, Chief Lateef Adetokunbo Akintola, who will act as Secretary and member.
Speaking to the media on behalf of the Olubadan-in-Council, Oba Adewoyin confirmed the committee would begin work immediately and welcomed input from members of the public.
The panel has been given a one-month timeline to gather information and submit its report.
The formation of the panel follows Olubadan’s recent intervention in the Ido dispute, during which he had pledged to appoint a committee to address the leadership crisis.
The Olubadan Palace continues to call for calm and cooperation from all stakeholders as the committee carries out its mandate.
