‘When Adeleke Wanted to Come to APC, Oyetola Was Always Calling Me That This A Problem’ — Omisore

Former All Progressives Congress (APC) National Secretary Senator Iyiola Omisore has revealed that Minister of Marine and Blue Economy Dr. Adegboyega Oyetola repeatedly contacted him to block Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke from joining the APC.

Speaking during an interview with TVC, Senator Omisore disclosed how he initially cooperated with Oyetola’s efforts before discovering the minister’s ulterior motives.

“When Adeleke wanted to come to APC, Oyetola was always calling me that this is a problem and we have to resist this. And I went ahead to Channels to resist that defection, not knowing that he (Oyetola) has his own plan to sabotage me. I don’t mind some of those things in politics,” he said.

The former national secretary described a post-2022 election conversation with President Bola Tinubu where he accepted responsibility for losing Osun State.

Omisore stated he felt terrible about the defeat and subsequently provided the president with recommendations for avoiding future losses, including financing issues which Tinubu has since addressed.

He noted that Oyetola is promoting his own candidate, characterizing this as the minister’s choice.

However, the former APC secretary insisted that President Tinubu as party leader deserves truthful information to make informed decisions based on facts.
