32FM Chapel Applauds Abas’ Emergence as Oyo NUJ Chairman

…Says Tenure Will Strengthen Ethical Journalism, improved welfare

The 32FM Chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) has congratulated the newly elected Executive Council of the NUJ, Oyo State Council, led by its chairman, Comrade Akeem Babatunde Abas, following his victory at the polls conducted on Tuesday, December 9, 2025.

In a congratulatory message signed by its Acting Secretary, Ogundele Olanrewaju, the Chapel commended the transparency of the electoral process and praised members of the union for their peaceful and orderly conduct throughout the exercise.

According to the Chapel, the election demonstrated the unity, maturity, and progressive disposition of journalists in the state.

The statement expressed confidence that the leadership of Comrade Abas would bring renewed energy to the council, with expectations of improved professionalism, stronger welfare advocacy, and enhanced development opportunities for journalists.

It described the new chairman as a dedicated and principled professional whose proven track record positions him to steer the union effectively.
