Olubadan Urges Yoruba People to Remain Vigilant Amid Security Challenges

The Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja, has called on Yoruba people to remain vigilant in the face of the security challenges confronting Nigeria.

The statement was made and signed by the Media Aide to Olubadan of Ibadanland, Adeola Oloko while the monarch made the appeal at Ode-Omu, Osun State, during the weekend as part of activities marking Ode-Omu Day, an annual event dedicated to reviewing community development achievements and setting new goals for the future.

Oba Ladoja commended the people of Ode-Omu for their unwavering commitment to community development under the leadership of the Alaye of Ode-Omu, Oba James Bolarinwa Oladipupo.

He also pledged the continued support of Ibadan to the town’s development efforts, announcing that the Parakoyi of Ibadanland, Chief Tunde Afolabi, would chair next year’s edition of the celebration.

In his remarks, former Minister of Police Affairs, Alhaji Jelili Wale Adesiyan, told the large crowd that Ode-Omu’s current settlement was established in 1909 by ancient warriors from Ibadan.

He praised all royal fathers present, especially the Olubadan, for their massive turnout.

Members of the Olubadan-in-Council who attended the event included the Balogun of Ibadanland, Oba Tajudeen Ajibola; Osi Olubadan, Oba Abiodun Kola-Daisi; and Ekerin Balogun of Ibadanland, High Chief Senator Sarafadeen Alli.

The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, was represented by the Salu of Edunabon, Oba Kehinde Oladepo, while the Ogunsua of Modakeke, Oba Francis Adedoyin, also graced the event alongside his chiefs.
