Ewenla Backs PDP Leadership, Commends Damagum, Arapaja, and Ologunagba for Steadfast Leadersh

…As South-West PDP stalwart hails National Working Committee’s disciplinary actions, says party remains united and focused on rescuing Nigeria

A South-West chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Prince Amb. (Dr.) Adedipe Dauda Ewenla, has reaffirmed his total support for the party’s National Chairman, Amb. Iliya Damagum, Deputy National Chairman (South), Hon. Taofeek Arapaja, and National Publicity Secretary, Hon. Debo Ologunagba, for what he described as their “steadfast leadership and commitment to party unity.”

In a statement issued on Sunday, Ewenla commended the trio for their dedication to maintaining discipline and cohesion within the PDP, noting that their leadership had ensured the stability of the party ahead of the 2025 National Convention scheduled to hold in Ibadan.

He also endorsed the recent decision of the National Working Committee (NWC) to suspend certain officers Senator Samuel Anyanwu, Hon. Umar Bature, Barr. Kamaldeen Ajibade, and Barr. Okechukwu Osuoha, stressing that the action was in line with Sections 58 and 59 of the PDP Constitution.

“The suspension was a necessary disciplinary measure to restore sanity and discipline within our party,” Ewenla stated.

“Those affected must respect party procedures and appear before the National Disciplinary Committee to defend themselves.”

The PDP stalwart further emphasized that the Deputy National Secretary, Hon. Arc. Setonji Koshoedo, remains the Acting National Secretary and called on all members to rally behind the legitimate leadership of the party.

Ewenla warned the suspended officials against making unauthorized statements or parading themselves as leaders, describing such actions as “divisive, unlawful, and anti-party.”

“Their desperate attempts to destabilize the PDP ahead of the Ibadan National Convention will not succeed. The PDP remains united, strong, and focused on its mission to rescue and rebuild Nigeria,” he said.

He urged party members across the country to remain calm and loyal, assuring that the forthcoming convention would hold as planned.

“Those attempting to destroy the PDP from within will be exposed and defeated,” Ewenla concluded.
