Egbeda LG Distributes 70,000 Exercise Books Across 77 Primary Schools

…As Hon. Sanda affirms education as key to community growth; encourages stakeholders to protect the vision.

In a bold move to promote inclusive education and equitable access to learning materials, Egbeda Local Government has distributed more than 70,000 copies of exercise books to pupils in all 77 public primary schools within the council area.

The Executive Chairman, Hon. Sanda Sikiru Oyedele, made this known during the official flag-off ceremony of the “Back to School Initiative” held at the Council Secretariat, Egbeda.

Hon. Sanda emphasized that the distribution of the books is part of a broader educational intervention plan targeted at improving access to quality learning materials and support the welfare of families.

“This initiative is a testament to our commitment to equipping our pupils with the necessary tools for academic development.

“These books are not just development, are not just paper, they represent knowledge, creativity, and he hope for a brighter future,” the Chairman stated.

“This will also significantly reduce the financial pressure on parents, allowing them to focus on other essential aspects of their children’s education and well-being,” he added.

He called on parents and teachers to ensure that the books are put to good use, describing the gesture an investment in their children’s future and in the development of the entire community.

“We have seventy-seven primary schools in Egbeda Local Government, and what we have provided here is over Seventy thousand copies of exercise books.

“We want to ensure that this provision cuts across all the 77 schools in Egbeda.

“We do not want anybody to be left out, we want the dividends of democracy to reach the doorstep of everyone in this local government,” he added.

In his remarks, The Chairman Oyo State Universal Basic Education (SUBEB), Nureni Adeniran charged the Stakeholders to complement the efforts of the government by ensuring that books are well used and by buying books for their children.

In his message, the Oyo State Assembly house committee on local government and Chieftaincy Matters, Hon. Akintunde Olajide called on all other chairmen in the state to emulate the gesture by providing educational infrastructure to students to enhance their education and progress in their educational pursuit.
