It was a celebration of culture, cuisine, and community spirit as 32FM on Saturday launched the maiden edition of its Amala Fiesta at the Adamasingba, Ibadan.

The event, aimed at promoting Amala tourism as part of Ibadan cultural heritage, drew a large crowd of fans, food lovers, and members of the public who came out in large numbers to enjoy the festivities.

Present at the fiesta were the Commissioner for Tourism, Dr. Wasiu Olatunbosun, and the Commissioner for Works, Public and Transport, Hon. Abdulmojeed Mogbonjubola, who both commended 32FM for the initiative.

Dr. Olatunbosun lauded the radio station for championing local culture through such a creative platform and highlighted the role of media in promoting tourism and indigenous heritage.

“32FM has done something remarkable today. Promoting Amala as a tourist attraction shows the power of media in preserving our identity,” Dr. Olatunbosun stated.

He urged the people of Oyo State to continue supporting the administration of Governor Seyi Makinde, emphasizing the importance of peace and unity for sustainable development in the state.

In a symbolic show of support, the commissioners also joined food vendors at the event to help stir pots of Amala, much to the excitement of attendees, a gesture that underlined the state government’s endorsement of the festival.

Several fans at the venue expressed joy and appreciation to 32FM for organizing the event. Many described it as a fun-filled, culturally rich experience that brings people together and celebrates local cuisine in a unique way.

The 32FM Amala Festival is expected to become an annual event, aimed at not only entertaining the public but also spotlighting Amala as a significant part of Ibadan cultural and tourism identity.
