Lagos PDP Suspends Segun Adewale (Aeroland) for 30 Months Over Disciplinary Breaches

The Lagos State chapter of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has officially suspended Otunba Segun Adewale, popularly known as Aeroland, for a period of 30 months following a disciplinary process initiated by the party’s Alimosho Local Government executive members.

In a statement released on Saturday by Prince Ambassador (Dr.) Adedipe Dauda Ewenla, a member of the PDP Lagos Disciplinary Committee and Southwest PDP Ex-officio, the party confirmed that Adewale failed to meet conditions necessary to maintain his membership, effectively resulting in his expulsion.

The disciplinary action follows formal petitions submitted on July 22 and 27, 2024, by PDP executives in Alimosho LGA. The committee reviewed the matter in line with Sections 57, 58, and 59 of the PDP Constitution (as amended in 2017).

According to the committee, despite being informed via WhatsApp and phone calls, Adewale refused to attend any of the hearings and instead asked the committee chairman not to contact him again.

Ewenla stated that the committee found “credible and substantiated evidence” including documents, audio recordings, and witness testimonies, which showed that Adewale had violated several sections of the party’s constitution — notably 58(1)(a), (b), (f), (g), and (h).

Based on these findings, the committee unanimously resolved to suspend Adewale for 30 months, effective immediately. Within the first six months of the suspension, he was required to:

Withdraw all legal cases filed against PDP elders, executives, and members.

Issue formal written apologies to his Ward M1 executive, the Alimosho LGA executive, the Lagos PDP executive, and other affected individuals.y

Failure to comply within that period, the committee warned, would result in the permanent forfeiture of his membership status.

As of August 2025, 11 months into his suspension, Adewale has reportedly failed to meet any of the conditions, prompting party leaders to regard him as effectively expelled.

“Otunba Segun Adewale has failed to meet the disciplinary conditions. His continued false claims of being a PDP member are misleading and damaging to the party’s integrity,” Ewenla stated.

The statement further revealed that Adewale’s political group, A.W.A.K.E, had since defected to the African Democratic Congress (ADC), where PDP flags were removed from his family compound. However, he was also reportedly rejected by the ADC, as he had previously been by the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Ewenla emphasized that since Adewale’s exit, Lagos PDP — particularly in Alimosho — has experienced an “unprecedented level of peace,” successfully conducting its primary and chairmanship elections without incident for the first time in years.

“As a member of the Lagos State PDP Disciplinary Committee and Southwest PDP Ex-officio, I affirm that Otunba Segun Adewale is no longer a member of our party. He is free to join any political party, but not the PDP. His presence has only brought disruption and division,” Ewenla said.

The party reiterated its commitment to unity, discipline, and constitutional order, vowing to resist attempts by any individual to undermine its values.
