Mrs Makinde Urges Orphanages, Disability Centers to Register With Govt

…As Makinde’s Wife distributes aid to children with special needs

Wife of Oyo State governor, Mrs Tamunominini Makinde has urged owners of Orphanage Homes, Foundations, Disability Centers and others across the state to register with the state government so as to identified and benefit from government whenever the needs arises.

Mrs Makinde lamented that some owners of Orphanage Homes, Foundations and Disability Centers are yet to be registered with government which is deriving them of benefits from the government.

Speaking in Ibadan while distributing food items, toiletries, cash and other gift to children with special needs, the governors wife, who was represented by lawmaker representing Ibadan North Constituency 1 at the State House of Assembly, Hon. Comforter Olajide maintained that it is advisable for some of the Homes to be registered with Ministry of Women Affairs.

According to her, registration with government will enable government to know their location, what they are doing and know report of their activities so that government can know how to reach out to them.

She thanked the wife of the governor for her kind gesture, reaching out to the children, uplifting them and putting smiles on their faces and give them hope.

She called on well meaning Nigerians to extend hands of love to children with special needs.

In her remarks, the Commissioner for Special Duty, Alhaja Faosat Sani lauded Mrs Makinde’s gesture for extending hands of love to the children, whom according to her are great Nigerians.

She however said the cash donations, together with the food items will complement efforts of the caregivers in taking good care of the children with special needs.

Some of the Homes and Centers visited by the governors wife in Ibadan include; Heart and Soul Nur/Pry for Children with Special Needs, Iwo road, Jesus Kids Home for Special People, Monatan, and Life Survival Childrens Home, Akobo Ojurin, Ibadan.

Other are Seed of Charity, Olorunda, Akobo, Rehabilitation Center for the Disabled, Moniya, Jesus Children Mission Outreach, Bodija, and Agbedare Jesus Care Foundation Special, Agbowo express among others.

The beneficiaries of the items thanked the governors wife for the gesture, saying it will go along way in addressing some of their challenges.
