PDP Southwest Zone Charts New Course With Fresh Leadership

The Southwest zone of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) witnessed a momentous occasion on May 21, 2025, as its newly elected zonal executives were formally inaugurated. The ceremony marked a significant milestone in the party’s continued commitment to leadership, unity, and progress in the region.

The event was graced by two esteemed sitting governors: His Excellency, Engr. Seyi Abiodun Makinde, Governor of Oyo State, and His Excellency, Senator Ademola Adeleke, Governor of Osun State. Their presence signified strong party solidarity and underscored their unwavering support for the newly inaugurated team.

Also in attendance was Distinguished Hon. Ladi Adebutu, the PDP’s most recent gubernatorial candidate in Ogun State. Alongside numerous dignitaries, he delivered a message of encouragement and pledged moral and financial support to the newly inaugurated executives. Collectively, the party leaders expressed confidence in the capacity of the new leadership to effectively discharge their responsibilities and steer the party toward greater heights in the Southwest region.

In his address, the Southwest Zonal Chairman, Engr. Ajisafe Kamorudeen, warmly welcomed all leaders, members, and party faithful present at the inauguration. He gave special recognition to Governors Makinde and Adeleke, as well as to Hon. Ladi Adebutu, whom he confidently referred to as the incoming Executive Governor of Ogun State—a statement met with enthusiastic applause.

The Zonal Secretary, Barr. Olumuyiwa Obanewa, delivered a heartfelt appreciation speech, expressing profound gratitude to everyone present. He gave special thanks to the two sitting governors and Hon. Ladi Adebutu for their consistent dedication and loyalty to the PDP cause in the Southwest.
