OYSHMB Conducts Examination for Internship Students in Nursing, Physiotherapy, Pharmacy, Medical Laboratory
…As Gov. Increase Number of Internship from 80 to 200 for improved health care services in the state
The management of Oyo State Hospitals’ Management has conducted examination for internship students into Nursing, Physiotherapy, Pharmacy and Medical Laboratory for it facilities within the board.
The aim is to improve on the provision of effective and efficiency integrated responsive health care system which provides qualitative, accessible and affordable healthcare services for the people of Oyo state.
The examination was conducted at the Conference Room of the Ministry of Health, Secretariat,Ibadan.
In his words while addressing the participants, the Chairman of the Oyo State Hospitals’ Management Board(OYSHMB),Dr. Akin Fagbemi commended his excelllency Engr. Oluseyi Makinde FNSE for his unwavering support to the health family in the state.
He added that the governor of the state has also approved the increase in the number of internship from 80 to 200 thereby signal another great step in the history of the board.
Dr. Fagbemi advised the students to behave themselves during the conduct of the examination and that they should display all sense of professionalism if given the opportunity to serve the state in various facilities.
The Chairman further stated that the examination was conducted in the interest of the state to pick the best out of the applicants so we may have better hands in all our facilities across the state.
In his remarks, The Permanent Secretary in the board Dr. Anifat Ibraheem appreciated his excelllency Engr. Oluseyi Makinde for the provision of good health care state ,she cited example of the On-going Free Health Mission organised by the state government to help the less privileged in the state.
A total number of 179 applicants seated for the examination with 75 nurses,64 Medical Laboratory Scientist,35 Physiotherapist and 5 Pharmacist.
