The Peoples Democratic Party Governors’ Forum has ruled out forming a coalition with other political parties, opting instead to welcome individuals and groups who share its ideology to bolster its chances of winning the 2027 general elections.
This decision was made during a 6 Hours closed-door meeting in Ibadan, Oyo State, attended by over 8 PDP governors and key stakeholders.
The PDP Governors’ Forum emphasized its commitment to strengthening the party without partnering with other parties.
The party is open to individuals and groups joining its ranks to enhance its electoral prospects in 2027.
The Deputy National Secretary will act in the position pending the nomination and ratification of a substantive secretary from the South East Zone.
The Forum condemned the declaration of a state of emergency in Rivers State and resolved to approach the Supreme Court for a clear verdict on the matter, expressing solidarity with Governor Siminalayi Fubara.
The PDP Governors’ Forum reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening the party and addressing national issues for the country’s betterment.
